SASSA Will Take Services to Fernie Community

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it's alarmed in regards to the significant range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach website Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some large quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office devoted to service the area regularly. The service level made for intervention experiences a higher inflow of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it tough for that Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more methods to allow the servicing of all shoppers and improve entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
